| Will be interesting to see the path the people with a choice and a voice choose to follow. | |

| Is the real concern, that if those of mixed indigenous Heritage (the white Blackfella) continue to add their voice, that they/we will no longer be a minority? | |

| Unlike previous treaties with other Indigenous nations during Colonial times, which fell under international law. Any treaty formed with the current first nation people here, would fall under Australian law.... | |

| Prospecting forums are not the sort of place where a sympathetic opinion on the voice will be heard. The 'prospecting' scene is in general dominated by right wing rednecks. Not sure exactly why they are attracted to this this interest or occupation, but they seem to dominate. Many are bloody hopeless, but have a high opinion of themselves and their beliefs. To be honest I could count the prospectors that I have any respect for on one hand. The rest I wouldn't bother pissing on. Many are just greedy and devious. |

| The voice has always been step two after an apology, on the way to a treaty. Unless you are a corporation or some other financial recipient, why would you oppose a treaty with the indigenous nation?? With War never declared, the natives weren't even acknowledged as human, so a Treaty has never taken place...To all intents and legal purposes..are we not still at war??? What's past is past, or might is right....are hardly the arguments of those who claim to be more advanced than the oldest known continuous People on the planet. I guess being civilized, like history, is determined by who wins...Not what's right.
The Christian Church only has 2023 yrs behind it.(pretty much regardless of religion)..Yet we base our whole society around it's preaching.
How much more devout and enshrined do you think you'd be after 60000yrs??????????

| A view from outside? "Whether to enshrine a Voice to Parliament in the Constitution is a very big question that only Australians can answer in the upcoming referendum.
But this doesn’t mean the rest of the world isn’t watching.
For example, when MC Hammer (yes, that MC Hammer) weighed in on the Voice in a tweet last month, it got 1.1 million views and 5,700 likes.
Closer to home, an MP in Vanuatu tweeted that a “no” vote would “be a blow to our relationship, especially perceptions of [Australia] in our general public.”
As Bec Strating, the director of La Trobe Asia, and her coauthors write, there will likely be implications to Australia’s international reputation no matter how the country votes.
A “yes” vote could allow Australian diplomats to more firmly embed First Nations people in the image of Australia they present to the world.
A “no” result, on the other hand, could make it more difficult for Australia to remain a credible leader on Indigenous and human rights issues, particularly in our relations with neighbours in Asia and the Pacific.
And countries like China may try to use the result to shift public opinion against Australia, the authors say."

| It isn't just about our view of our own indigenous. It's an insight to how we view the world and others of different belief. Are Aussies as open minded as they believe? Or only as far as they are not inconvenienced? Won't go into the inconvenience imposed on those already here. | |

| Oh well. I hope it's not back to square one. The voice was never about the Govt, and not a Govt idea. It was supposed to give indigenous communities a bit of self governance and a say in decisions that affect them. As opposed to millions spent on studies by outsiders, who then waste more money on schemes they THINK the indigenous need/want . Then the locals are called ungrateful and a waste of money, because they didn't use all the geat things that they didn't ask for or really need to begin with. I guess we'll just continue to pay for more studies and focus groups....more gifts and services that weren't asked for to give the appearance of care.
