That's cute Dippy.

Trying to spruik Mick and belittle Woody.
Quite a few finds here are from Detectronic Modded detectors. Wink

They get a regular mention on our FB page as a few of the Admin team use them.

So the information and comments posted, are from those who've actually had machines modified, and regularly use them in the field.

Where is your info from? Do you have any finds you wish to fake as yours with a modded machine?Razz

Just curious Dippy, as you're entitled to an opinion, on what are you basing it? Please don't say experience. lol!

Feedback I'm getting from chat discussions, is it might be worth waiting a little for videos and feedback on the E1500.
Especially if you don't already own a machine to modify, before making your choice. Wink

Until performance videos and feedback start showing up, why make a purchase you may regret in a few weeks. scratch

Hey Dippy, was your last post supposed to imply it's better than a Zed.(modded 5000 vs Zed)

While it's competitive in some conditions.(and offers a great improvement over stock)
I would be using a lot more aggressive settings than sensitivity 14 on the zed. (I don't go below max and just listen, maybe 17 in the wet)

And when utilising the settings for deep gold on the gpx, in the previous video with the large coil, the deep gold big coil option wasn't taken with the Zed 19" combo tested.

So as impressive as mod performance is in these videos, his running of the zed does not encourage it's best results. imo.

But you keep posting those links without qualifying them, though I guess with no experience you'll have to rely on the opinions of others as always. Razz

Edit: I will be fair and say the GPX machines in all videos could also have possibly been run hotter, While I have had a swing, I don't have enough hours on them to make that call. I can only speak re the Zed and the many hours on it.

I'm wondering on watching that last Video what a modded 5000 with a 10" Xcoil, 12/15" Evo or even a  15x13 would return against the 12" zedsearch.
Probably a more appropriate comparison than the combos chosen.(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8yXSFoTjI8)

Though I'll be catching up with Brett soon and his modded 5000 and can see first hand and try my own settings. Very Happy

Be able to give a better idea  how close they are, or if the 5000 mod does outshine. flower

Edit: great finds being made by a variety of modded machines, and they are proven better than standard.
Bias testing/comparisons via coils or settings is unnecessary whether intentional or not and muddies the results.
If depth, use big coils (or biggest available for machine) big coil settings, general detecting best use medium coil, etc  imo.Smile

Dippy while what you say differs little from anything I have.

Some people just like the guarantee and image that comes with the newest and latest.

They just don't buy second hand. Personally I just buy what works for me. And if it stops working I buy something else.

Let your members know when you actually have yours made operational and modified. Though with Micks 5000 waiting list...could be some time.scratch

Maybe you should take it to Woody?lol!

edit: Matters little what it shows you Dippy, as you only have other videos and other peoples opinions to use for comparison...Nothing of your own. tongue

Well done Dippy..
The one serious thread Reg started for you..
About a machine that has outsold the QED within days of release out of nowhere.

And you sully it because you can't get your mind off Woody.....scratch

I was right...you do love him! lol!

Ps. Is that why you're upset with him? Because he didn't love you back?? Rolling Eyes Razz Very Happy

Hey Dippy...

Are you so dumb you think because you only steal/copyright a sentence that it's legal!!??
Meanwhile you post the copyright notice in the same post!!! lol!

Dippy Doug rides up to a policeman on a bike with no helmet.
Officer officer he wails, pointing furiously in another direction.
"There is a man over there who called me stupid, breaking a helmet law" he says, "I have the law he's breaking right here".
The officer looks at Doug and says "are you sure you want to do this?"
"YES" wails Doug, "anybody breaking the law is a criminal!!!"
"Ok" said the officer, and promptly arrested Doug for not wearing a helmet.

There is a moral Dippy, but I don't think you'd get that either. tongue Wink

Dippy you are slow.

The link you put up was started on DP a week ago, and you'll find I posted it back on Jan 30 under Reg's post here. Very Happy

The Quote you are referring to ("Unlike another moron i won,t reproduce the whole post because detectorprospector forum has a copyright notice!") is merely a recent basic coil comparison I posted this morning.
I referenced as much as I did, simply because individual posts are hard to find on a growing thread. Razz

Feel free accessing the information here and the links provided.
I always try to give credit to or links, for the sources used. Wink Laughing

lol! lol! lol! lol!

Here was me thinking you were going to post some actual information...
Different frequencies and timings, any filters or signal enhancement....??

I mean the title did read "Mick's mods for the GPX detectors". But nothing was mentioned??????
Instead of getting any info..!!! It's just a link to Detectronics??
A link That comes up when anybody Googles modifying a detector. Very Happy Razz
